Who we are

justcopied is operated by justcopied.com, Postbox Zurich.

For enquiries, join our Discord community. We answer within a day on working days.

Privacy

We keep as little as the service needs, and we do not sell anything to anyone. There is no advertising network on this site, no analytics script, and no tracking pixel in our emails.

What we hold about you

Your email address
To send the daily list you asked for, and to sign you in. Signing in uses a one-time link rather than a password, so we never hold one.
A session cookie
Set only after you sign in, so the site knows the browser is yours. It is strictly necessary for the service and carries nothing else. No other cookie is set.
Your subscription status
Whether a paid subscription is active and until when. Card details never reach us: payment is handled entirely by Stripe.

Who else processes it

Why we are allowed to

For subscribers: to perform the contract you entered into, and for the free list, the consent you gave by subscribing. For the products and makers we write about, our legitimate interest in publishing, which is journalism — see Makers and removal.

How long

Your email stays until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and one click in any email is enough. Records we must keep for accounting — invoices, essentially — are kept for the period applicable law requires.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, receive a copy, and object to our using it. Contact us via Discord and we will act within 30 days, usually the same week.

Subscription terms

What you get

The Tail is free: one email each morning with what indie makers shipped. The Head is paid: the launches that look like businesses, with who built them and how fast they were moving when we found them, plus the monthly, quarterly and annual issues.

Price and renewal

$9 per month or $90 per year, charged through Stripe, renewing automatically until you cancel. We will tell you by email before any price change, and it will never apply to a period you have paid for.

Cancelling

Cancel at any time from the billing portal, in one click, without writing to us or giving a reason. Your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.

The 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. Because the Head is available to you the moment you pay, you ask us to begin at once, and you acknowledge that you lose that right once we have — which is what you confirm when you subscribe.

Separately from that, and regardless of where you live: if you are unhappy within your first month, write to us and we refund you. No reasons asked.

What the content is, and is not

We publish measurements and our judgement of them. We report what products were gaining attention, and later what became of them. We do not predict what will succeed, and nothing here is investment advice, a recommendation to buy anything, or a statement about any company's financial condition. Decisions you take after reading are yours.

We check every item by hand before publishing, but information from third-party platforms can be wrong or change after we record it. We publish in good faith, without warranty. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it.

What you may do with it

Read it, quote it with attribution, and send an item to a colleague. Please do not republish the Head in full, or resell it — the paid list is for you, not for redistribution.

Ending an account

We may end an account that redistributes the paid list, abuses the service, or charges back a payment rather than asking for a refund. We refund the unused part when we do.

Law

Swiss law governs these terms, with the courts of Zurich, Switzerland. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protections of the law where you live.

Makers and removal

We write about products their makers published themselves, on public platforms, in order to be found. We record what that announcement said, the product's own page, and the attention it received. We name makers when the platform they launched on names them.

If you made something we wrote about and you would rather not appear, contact us via Discord and we will remove it. We do not ask why, and there is nothing to argue about. If something we wrote is wrong, tell us and we will correct it rather than remove it, unless you prefer removal.

Product names and trademarks belong to their owners. We use them to say what we are writing about, nothing more.
